Haniyeh in Algeria … Location and timing semantics

Author / Emad Afaneh

The leadership of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, represented by its leader Ismail Haniyeh, and a high-level delegation participated in the celebrations of the anniversary of Algeria’s independence.
This participation in the annual celebrations of brotherly Algeria carries connotations and distances in time and place.

The nature, status and position of Haniyeh on the leadership platform among leaders and presidents sent a message of strength and prestige, reflecting and commensurate with Hamas’ strength, effectiveness and leadership role in the Palestinian arena, and its advanced position among Arabs and Muslims, which was captured by the Algerian leadership, which strongly returned to play an effective role in the regional arena through the gate of embracing the Palestinian resistance.

The presence of the besieged and hunted Palestinian resistance leadership at the celebrations of the largest and most powerful Arab Maghreb country is very significant; it is believed to be the most prominent message externally in the celebrations.

The elitist and popular Algeria puts the invitation of the mujahid Haniyeh to visit Algeria within the framework of the normal relations of Algeria, the country of the mujahideen and revolutionaries against the occupier, who are exemplary in sacrifice and redemption, as they are the country of a million martyrs and more.

The Palestinian revolution follows the example of the jihad carried out by the Algerians against the French occupation, one of the most prominent supporters of the Zionist occupation.

It is as if Algeria is telling everyone that the path of liberation of Palestine is the same path taken by Algeria, which is the path of resistance and jihad for the sake of God for the sake of the homeland.

One of the indications of the visit is Algeria’s participation in the Palestinian resistance in affirming its rejection of normalization with the Zionist enemy and its support for the Palestinian resistance.
This position enjoys the consensus of Algerians at both the official and popular levels.

Haniyeh’s visit to Algeria is the first of its kind to lead the strongest Palestinian resistance movement with strategic dimensions; Algeria, which has long embraced the Palestinian revolution and the Tahrir Organization, is still on the same path in refusing to join the Arab normalization train.

At a time when Algeria knows that those who opened the door to normalization with the Zionist enemy are the same revolutionaries it embraces.

However, its continued embrace of the Palestinian resistance coincides with the sixtieth anniversary of Algeria’s independence, A symbolic sign that Algeria stands with the revolution and the resistance, not with factions or individuals, and from this position, Algeria seeks to be the incubator for Palestinian reunification.
Hence, we do not rule out Algeria’s organization of a reconciliation meeting between Abbas and Haniyeh, although they are not optimistic about the results.
Algeria has always been a base for Palestinian action abroad, In the eighties and seventies, will history repeat itself and be a backyard for the resistance politically, materially and morally, depending on Algeria’s leadership and the extent to which it may go on this path?
It also depends on Hamas’ ability and Haniyeh’s political prowess in preparing the Algerian arena for the presence of forces, albeit not capable of resistance.

Despite the restrictions, siege and persecution of Hamas as a spearhead of the Palestinian resistance under pressure and instructions from US imperialism, Algeria apparently chose to break the baton of American and Zionist obedience and have its Arab path, so it was keen to establish good relations with Hamas despite the negative repercussions it may inflict on from the colonial powers.

As for the nature and generosity of receiving the leader of the Palestinian resistance, Ismail Haniyeh, in Algeria, it is an expression of Algeria’s loyalty and the desire of its generous people, and reflects the authenticity of Algeria’s political and popular position.

Algerians consider the resistance a part of them and an extension of their revolution. They also consider that receiving the leaders of the Palestinian resistance warmly is the least duty to express their solidarity and assistance to the Palestinian people, who, as mentioned above, are an integral part of their components, their assets and their history.

The great reception that Haniyeh received in Algeria, in addition to being a slap in the face of all those who are drummers and typographers with the Zionist enemy, also represents an Arab-nationalist message that sends a ray of hope, that castles for revolution and resistance will not fall yet and will not fall, and we will not lose hope and we will not give up until the Arabs wake up and know that their strengths and pride are by defeating the Zionist enemy from our land, our Jerusalem and the path of our Prophet, not by reconciling and normalizing with him.

Algeria’s warm reception of the leader of the resistance is a message of pride for every Palestinian.

Haniyeh on the podium of presidents does not represent himself; he represents all the families of martyrs, prisoners, wounded and deportees.
It represents pain and pain as well as hope for the coming dawn of freedom.

It represents the pride and steadfastness practiced by Jerusalemites in the streets of Old Jerusalem and the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque every day.

The rebels rising up in the streets of the occupied West Bank with a few bullets and a bunch of stones washing with their terrifying takbeers represent the shame inflicted on the nation.

Represents the mujahideen stationed in the trenches of struggle in Gaza.
Our refugee people in the diaspora are represented by the millions stationed at the border of return.
