Annexation of Jerusalem:
After the Israeli army entered East Jerusalem, it began to impose Israeli laws on it. But the notables of Jerusalem warned of the formation of a committee to protect and manage religious affairs, especially in Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is the Supreme Islamic Authority, headed by Sheikh Abdul Hamid Al-Saih, as Israel removed him from Jerusalem One day after he was assigned to the position, then Sheikh Helmy Al-Muhtaseb took his place, followed by Sheikh Saad Al-Din Alami.
