The twelfth of Jumada I

It happened on the twelfth of Jumada I:

 

  1. In 626 AH / August 1929 AD, the death of Yaqut Al-Hamawi, who was of Rumi origin, Traveler, geographer, writer and linguist has many books, the most famous of which is the Dictionary of Countries.
  2. In 996 AH / April 1588 AD, Sinan Pasha, the architect, the chief architect and the most famous in the history of the Ottoman Empire, died. One of his most important works was the expansion of the Grand Mosque. Nicknamed the architect of the Ottoman Empire for fifty years, Or designed 476 buildings (of which in modern times 196 remain).
  3. In 1188 AH / July 1774 AD, the signing of the Treaty of Kaçekınarçe between Russia and the Ottoman Empire, The Ottoman Empire lost much of its prestige as a world state.
  4. In 1386 AH / August 1966 AD, the martyrdom of the thinker Sayyid Qutb after the execution of the decree issued by the Revolutionary Court during the reign of the tyrant Gamal Abdel Nasser.
  5. In 1411 AH / November 1990 AD, the Security Council issued Resolution 678 and ordered the use of force to liberate Kuwait if Iraq did not withdraw from it within a month and a half.
