The book aims to analyze the foreign policy of the European Union towards the Palestinian issue, And to identify its determinants as a rising international power capable of playing an influential role in the Arab-Israeli conflict.

The book used the descriptive analytical method, and the historical method, and the approach of national interest, and some auxiliary approaches. One of the most prominent findings of the study is that the Union’s foreign policy towards the Palestinian cause is influenced by ideological factors and the European historical legacy in support of Israel.

And with the American determinant that balances European policy, And the security and economic determinants that play an important role in the shape and course of the Union’s policy towards the settlement process.

The Union put forward a number of settlement initiatives in which it affirmed its vision of the foundations of the desired peace, He based his position on the PLO and Fatah on finding a Palestinian partner in the settlement that adopts a realistic vision of peace as seen by the Europeans.

On the other hand, his position was different from Hamas, as he initially sought to tame it and integrate it into political life.

His position was mixed on the results of the 2006 elections; after encouraging the participation of Hamas, He supported the elections and his observers testified to their transparency and fairness; his position changed after the victory of Hamas; he participated in the siege until it adhered to the conditions of the Quartet. The European Parliament also played an important role in the process of recognizing the Palestinian state. European solidarity movements, the most important of which is the BDS movement, played an important role in supporting the cause and achieved many achievements despite the obstacles it faced.

One of the most important recommendations of the study is to activate the role of the European Union’s foreign policy towards the Palestinian cause.
