Seventeenth of Jumada I

It happened on the seventeenth of Jumada I:

* Year 690 AH / May 1291 AD The city of Acre was restored and liberated from the hands of the Crusaders by the Mamluks led by Sultan Al-Ashraf Khalil bin Qalawun.

* In 979 AH / October 1571 AD, the Ottomans were defeated at the famous naval position of Lepanto in front of the Crusader alliance that included the papacy, the Kingdom of Spain, Venice, Genoa and the Knights of St. John.

* In 1288 AH / August 1871 AD, the battle of “Al-Barra” broke out between the brothers Saud and Abdullah, the sons of Faisal, And Saud triumphed over his brother, He became the master of Najd.

* Year 1344 AH / December 1925 AD Egypt ceded to Libya the oasis of Jaghbub from the strongholds of the Senussi call, At the behest of Britain, In exchange for Libya, it cedes Salloum to Egypt.

* Year 1392 AH / June 1972 AD: India and Pakistan hold a summit in Simla, India, to settle the problems of the war that broke out in 1971.

* Year 1411 AH / December 1990 AD: Announcing the establishment of the Islamic Society Movement “Hamas” in Algeria under the leadership of Sheikh Mahfouz Nahnah.
