The wheel of the Palestinian elections is turning, After the issuance of the presidential decree on 15/1/2021, This was followed by the announcement by Hamas of its agreement and readiness to participate in the election process.
Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh met on 23/1/2021 with about fifty ambassadors and consuls of Arab and foreign countries, He asked them to intervene to facilitate the holding of the elections and the requirements for their success, including the city of Jerusalem. and provide international surveillance, He also had a telephone call with UN envoy Tor Wennesland.
In the same vein, the Chairman of the Election Commission, Hanna Nasser, handed two invitations to the representative of the European Union, Ambassador Sven Kuhn von Burgsdorf, First of the European Parliament, The second is for the European Union, with the aim of participating in the monitoring of the electoral process.
The same thing was initiated by the Speaker of the Palestinian National Council, Salim Al-Za’noun, by inviting the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. And the Arab, Islamic, Asian, European, African and Latin American federations to contribute to the supervision and follow-up of the electoral process in Palestine.
And work to remove the obstacles expected by the occupation to the holding of elections, especially in the Palestinian Arab city of Jerusalem, In accordance with the Palestinian Legislative Council elections held between 1996 and 2006, So that elections and the renewal of the legitimacy of the Palestinian Authority institutions will not remain hostage to the Israeli colony.

The Central Committee of Fatah held its meeting on Sunday 24/1/2021, The discussion and dialogue were limited to the subject of legislative elections. not to deal with presidential elections or the formation of the National Assembly, Thus, only the issues of the Legislative Council elections were addressed, which will take place on 22/5/2021, Any discussion of the presidential election will be postponed beyond this date.
The organizational and practical committees were formed by Fatah , its Central Committee, its Revolutionary Council and members of the Advisory Council. Each according to its geographical location and field of specialization, The focus was on the president’s statement that “we will form our own list and whoever wishes to participate with us. According to our program, You are welcome to him.” So he didn’t close the door and kept it open.
On all possibilities of alliance, whether with PLO factions, Or Hamas.
A committee has been formed to engage in dialogue with other parties that will participate in the meetings.
