* 1334 AH / July 1916 AD The start of the First Battle of the Somme between French and British forces against German forces on both sides of the Somme River in the northwestern part of France, This battle continued until the end of November 1916. It is one of the major battles of the First World War.

 

 

* In 1368 AH / June 1949 AD Hosni al-Zaeem carries out the first military coup in Syria, However, a military coup d’état took place about two months later, The leader was executed one day after the second coup.

 

 

* In 1408 AH / April 1988 AD, the Mossad assassinates Khalil al-Wazir / Abu Jihad, one of the leaders of the Fatah movement in Tunisia.

 

 

* Year 1430 AH / August 2009 AD Scotland announced the release of the convicted in the Lockerbie case Abdul Basit Al-Megrahi for humanitarian reasons.
