Education in the world has its system and mechanisms recognized, each according to its circumstances, philosophy and public policy, and these mechanisms include automatic promotion, which is based on the philosophy of the futility of failing students, and not benefiting from re-ranking, However, each country has its own concept of automatic promotion.

For example, if we look at the concept of automatic promotion in Japan, we find that it is completely different in its application, The principle of automatic promotion has been adopted in the UNESCO global region, This is so that the student remains with his peers at the same level, But there must be a classification and there must be great interest in the student so that you make sure of his level, The method of upgrading it automatically is then a formality.

As for the method of automatic promotion followed in our Palestinian schools, according to which the student transfers, From season to season, We took this system as it is, We only understood its form, but its content was left aside, And the final stage is a weak student, He cannot read well, And he does not write his book correctly, Fearing the educational waste policy of the Ministry of Education and due to the weak capabilities to accommodate the large number of students each year, And other reasons.

Therefore, today we find poor academic achievement among students, Where their level is not commensurate with their stage of study, Which led to the emergence of a large gap between the student and the curriculum, And weakness in graduating human energies that serve society in a manner commensurate with progress, and the scientific explosion, and achieve the goals of society.

Which leads to psychological stress, reluctance to follow the curriculum, Which pushes some to leave education and go to look for work to face the battle of life from an early age, Hence, in front of this new reality, which was imposed by the repercussions of the Corona pandemic on the educational system in general, I propose the following:

  • Neutralizing politics from education so that it can be independent by its decision and to be supported financially and morally immediately without delay, And with all our strength.

  • Provide job security and improve the lives of all teachers.

  • Decision-makers at the senior management level should increase the failure rate at all costs to save the generation from losing the future and adopt automatic promotion based on mastery, Officials in power should speed up the construction of vocational, technical and training schools to accommodate students who cannot continue to study, but can learn a profession or craft that they will innovate in their lives and form their families in the future.

  • Sustainability in education in which e-learning and traditional classroom learning are integrated into one framework, Where e-learning tools, whether computer-based or network-based, are employed in lessons, Such as computer labs and smart classes, and the teacher meets with the student face to face most of the time, and this is what is known as (blended education) in anticipation of any upcoming emergency and providing all the needs of students

  • Parents should create all means of success and progress for their children, provide everything necessary for them, follow them diligently, train them to organize times, follow up their lessons seriously, and communicate continuously and effectively with the school to achieve the complementary role between the school and the family, and their children should be urged to take advantage of computers and smart phones in educational programs and not in matters that do not enrich or fatten from hunger.
